I learned so much from the Mini First Aid adult awareness class. I feel confident about what to do in a range of first aid situations or emergencies. For the first time, I’ve seen images of what burns look like on black and brown as well as white skin. I know what signs to look for if a child is choking, as these can look different, depending on your skin colour. Thanks Mini First Aid for making your classes relevant to everyone.

There are a gazillion things I never seem to get around to doing (fixing the broken blind in our bedroom, getting some photos printed of ‘the baby’ who is almost two but still doesn’t exist on our walls, pinning down the coffee date I’ve been promising my neglected friend via WhatsApp for at least 6 months…) BUT this morning I finally got my arse in gear and ticked off something from my ‘Really Must Do’ list by attending a First Aid class designed specifically for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and young children. It took just two hours out of my morning and covered a whole host of stuff including what to do if a child is choking, how to deal with burns/breaks/bleeding and the basics of life-saving CPR for kids.

Fantastic private class. Informative and hands on practice is second to none. Would recommend to anyone with children for peace of mind and the confidence of what to do in those unthinkable situations. Thanks Naomi - you were brilliant!

I thoroughly enjoyed the course, as a new first time grand parent I would highly recommend doing this very informative course. After getting to practice on the dummies....and Naomi! I now feel so much more confidant that I will know what to do should an emergency arise while my granddaughter is in my care. Thank you Naomi.

One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! It may have only been 10 seconds in which she couldn’t breathe but it was terrifying. Had I not had the training from Martin and Mini First Aid, I cannot even begin to imagine how differently the situation could have turned out. In fact, I’d go as far to say that the training I received enabled me to save our daughter’s life.

Holly, our trainer was an excellent facilitator. The session was informative and enjoyable, and the class size made it feel accessible and easy for everyone to get stuck in. Holly's first-hand experience in the field, coupled with being a parent made the information really palatable and relatable. She made sure to have inclusive material which was perfect for the multicultural group we were in. I'd highly recommend the class if you want to arm yourself with the confidence to respond to a child in an emergency situation.

This was an informative first aid course in the comfort of our own home. It has given us the reassurance and confidence to deal with any first aid issues our babies may have. These sessions are ideal for groups of mums, toddler groups etc... it was nice doing it with people I knew in a comfortable setting! This was a fantastic course, I would highly recommend, Thank you!

Sky are always looking for ways to better support their staff and Parents@Sky Network offers support and benefits to staff who are parents. I came across Mini First Aid through a Facebook promotion and there was a huge demand for the Infant and Child First Aid class which was shared on our internal and external social channels. The communication and organisation of the event was excellent - Sarah-Lou was professional, engaging and even injected some parent style humour! The class was interactive and educational - everyone took something away from it including much more confidence in dealing with any emergencies which could arise with their little ones. The feedback received on the back of it was amazing! It was a great success and hopefully something we can do again, and potentially roll out to other sites in the UK. I took my 3 year old to the Early years first aid course almost as a bit of a novelty as another activity for her to do. Being only 3, I didn’t think any information would be retained. So fast forward a week later and I am astonished that she still knows what to do if someone gets a bump on the head or falls down and won’t wake up. What a brilliant course! Naomi used a giant teddy as a prop and toy telephones to show how to dial 999 etc but the way she delivered the course was fantastic! Highly recommended!

St Joseph’s School, Wetherby (Early Years class) Our Nursery class love to get involved in whole-school curriculum enrichment activities but First Aid for 3-4 year olds? Even for our well-seasoned teachers, this sounded like a tall order. How wrong we were! Our sessions with Claire were absolutely brilliant. Skillful teaching, great resources, clear messages and important safety information; empowering our children to feel like mini first aiders. With the help of Max the teddy, we learned simple first aid techniques for cuts, scrapes and head bumps; as well as learning how to make someone comfortable by lying them on their side if they are very poorly. We learned about how you may need to phone 999 in an emergency and that you need to know your address. The children absolutely loved The ‘Mini Adventures of Freddie’ story which brought everything together perfectly. Thank-you Claire. Never underestimate 3-4 year olds! They really can save lives!

Mini First Aid really are the best for all your first aid needs! I found the company online through researching baby first aid products and the reviews were so great that I had to buy and try, and I was so impressed! The first aid kits really are so extensive! I want to say a huge thank you to Angie from Mini First Aid for coming to our home to teach my family and I baby first aid! I had some basic knowledge but it didn’t compare to the hands on approach in our class where we got to practice techniques. Angie was incredible and so patient with us, and the lesson was invaluable to us as new parents!

I attended a class with Naomi and would highly recommend it. The information provided was all really useful and although I hope to never use it, I feel so much better knowing that I could if I had to. I was also really impressed that it covered first aid for all - babies, children and touched on adults, as it means that it won’t just apply while my little one is little! I was a little apprehensive as I had to bring my 3 week old daughter to the class and was worried that it might be an issue if she needed feeding or cried (she did both) but the friendly atmosphere meant that I needn’t have worried at all. My mum is planning on booking a class and I’ll be recommending it to everyone - you really don’t even need to be a parent or grandparent to benefit from this class and I think everyone should have some basic training like this.

It was a pleasure meeting Kate and Jacky from Mini First Aid and being taught what to do in case of an emergency. Learning CPR and what to do when a child is choking is invaluable. Obviously, I hope I never had to use the things I learned in today’s class, but horrible things happen and knowing these techniques can really make a huge difference. This weekend myself and five mummy friends had a private Mini First Aid session from the comfort of my own home. Now I’ve done it I can’t believe I hadn’t done it sooner, what a no-brainer!! My husband and I attended this morning with our little boy. We’ve both come away feeling confident that if we ever need to administer first aid (fingers crossed that we don’t), we’ll be able to handle whatever is thrown at us. I just wanted to thank you for the trainning you provided, my boys loved it and asked if they could do it again the next week!
